We are looking to
appoint a dedicated and committed professional, with a proven background
in supporting teenagers with complex emotional or behaviour issues, to
work within our Student Support Centre as Assistant Lead Teacher. An
ability to teach a variety of subjects (including English and Mathematics),
and counselling skills are desirable.
The successful
candidate will liaise with relevant staff to address the learning
requirements of students who need to overcome barriers to learning,
thereby helping them to achieve their full potential.
Patience, empathy,
sensitivity and the ability to form positive and effective working
relationships with our students is essential to this demanding but
rewarding position.

change and challenge. You will be leading the development of a newly set
up Learning Support Unit.
The
Learning Support Unit is part of the whole school commitment to raising
standards. It is a place within
the school where rigorous learning takes place whilst supporting pupils
in mastering the challenge of school.
We aim to re- engage pupils in their education and equip them with
the skills to learn successfully in the mainstream classroom and develop
emotional and social skills.
The
successful candidate will have high expectations and be able to
contribute to the success of the LSU by showing a commitment to promote
and develop the ethos within the school.
