ICT in Robert Bruce is run by two experienced and enthusiastic
members of staff who follow a creative and engaging scheme of work making
ICT an integral part of the curriculum across all four year groups.
In addition to having two fully equipped computer rooms we also have
two class sets of laptops that can be taken to any class to support the
learning of any subject whether ICT, cross-curricular work or for
supporting pupils with special needs and other networked computers
throughout the school. All pupils
have access to the learning platform that enables them to communicate
effectively with their classmates, teachers and access their work and
lessons from any internet accessed computer. The school follows the QCA schemes
of work for ICT which covers a variety of software packages, the internet,
e-mail and other information technologies and skills such as web-design,
sensors, and controlled robots and how to use technology safely.
There are seven
Foundation Subjects, plus Religious Education and Drama, in the National
Curriculum:
Art, Design, Geography,
History, Modern Foreign Languages (French and German), Music, Physical
Education.
