ART AND POTTERY
Art is a popular subject
which is taught to all pupils within the school. Pupils are encouraged to develop their skills
in painting, drawing, collage, ceramics, construction, print, surface
pattern and design through fun and inspiring lessons. Pupils will learn to develop their
imaginations, engage in individual and group work and to handle materials
and techniques with confidence.
Great importance will be placed on improving creativity,
observational skills and critical awareness of the work of artists and
designers. Pupils will be taught the
correct disciplines and procedures within an Art Studio, to become self reliant
and able to express themselves through their work.
Robert Bruce has two Art Rooms with scenic views of the River
Ouse and surrounding countryside, a source of
great inspiration throughout the year.
The department is well equipped and has a kiln, has been fitted with
computers with internet access, a TV, video and DVD player as well as new
Interactive Whiteboards.
